The compass
Two days that felt, at first, like a stop the work didn't need. Juan pauses the language app to zoom out and ask a question the daily routine buries: what is the point, why did this idea start, what am I actually for. To do it without relying on memory, he feeds Claude his raw past: the old Repraise emails from the Singapore introspection process, a Gemini deep-search summary of the whole '0 to 1 Million' channel, and the luarai.com portfolio. Out of the back-and-forth comes a file he names Compass (brújula), a distillation of his singularity: a constant desire to do things differently, to question systems, to find better paths and make others see them at once. The point of writing it down is operational: before starting anything new, Claude itself can say 'this isn't you, kill that idea, do what actually matters.'
// trace: where this idea came from
For one or two days Juan stopped building. He paused the language app he and Severo had a daily rhythm on, and at first he judged the pause harshly: it felt like something the work didn’t need ▸ 0:36. The reason he did it anyway is the quiet failure mode of any routine: you start an idea aimed at an objective, and then the objective dissolves into “a nice feature here, a detail there,” until you can no longer say why you began. So he zoomed out and asked the buried questions: what is the point, where did this come from, what am I actually for.
Doing that from memory is slow, so he did what this whole channel is now built around, and turned it into a conversation with Claude. He gave it his raw past as context: the old emails from the Repraise introspection process, still sitting in his inbox, copied and pasted whole; a Gemini deep-search summary of the entire “0 to 1 Million” channel; and the luarai.com portfolio ▸ 4:24. Not to be flattered, and not to be told who he is in one sentence, but to argue toward his core, which he insists is genuinely complex and takes time: touching a ball once doesn’t make you a footballer.

What came out he named Compass, brújula, and the naming is the point ▸ 5:17. The file describes what he calls his singularity: a constant desire to do things differently, to question the systems everyone accepts as fixed, to see the better path others overlook and make the world see it at once ▸ 7:34. Since childhood the reflex has been the same, he says: not accepting the default version of anything, asking what a five-out-of-five grade actually means, what values Instagram pushes people to maximize.
But a self-portrait that only flatters is useless. The reason to write the compass down is operational, and it points forward, not inward: before he starts anything new, Claude itself can hold the file up and tell him “panita, this isn’t you, don’t waste time on this, kill that idea, go do what actually matters” ▸ 26:14. A brújula is a thing you check before you set out, so you don’t spend six months walking the wrong way. The next entry is about the rule that makes a tool like this safe to trust: you have to be willing to push back on it…
