Total amnesia, infinite memory
A former colleague offers his hand on the street and his mind returns absolutely nothing, half a minute of blank handshake. Four hours later, half-asleep on the bus, the brain quietly hands back the whole file: the month of shared trainings, the metal music, everything but the name. Notes on the diffuse mode.

Outside Unilago, a man in a suit offers his hand and Juan Pablo’s mind produces nothing: ten seconds of staring, “me quedé en blanco, es como si tuviera Alzheimer” ▸ 9:55. Even the rescue question fails: “¿de dónde es que lo conozco?” gets “de Noov”, his own former workplace, and the hint retrieves nothing at all ▸ 11:25. He spends half an hour running searches, adjacent people, shared rooms, and comes up empty through lunch ▸ 13:39, but makes a testable prediction: it’ll surface by tonight on its own ▸ 14:33.
It does, and the conditions are the finding: four hours later, coming off the bus half-asleep, “cuando uno entra como en modo difuso, el cerebro reconecta cositas”, the identity arrives whole ▸ 15:23: the colleague from another area who joined his onboarding trainings three years ago, a month of seeing each other daily ▸ 16:27, and then the details cascade unprompted, the metal music, the mutual friends ▸ 17:01. His conclusion is the one a vision researcher would write down: the brain had encoded all of it, deletion was an illusion of retrieval, “pareciera como si el cerebro tuviera memoria infinita” ▸ 17:51.

The social layer gets its audit too. Julia votes for honesty with a floor, admit you remember the face and ask the name ▸ 20:15, and confesses her own worse version: greeting a childhood friend on a bus with the wrong name entirely ▸ 19:00. He closes with the apology every such story owes: if the man ever sees this video, sorry, the name still hasn’t loaded ▸ 21:23, though he predicts, correctly by his own model, that it will arrive tomorrow, mid-shower, unasked…
